Volunteering your time and services are a great way to support TC Camp’s programs.
If you are a University Student and you are looking to get some college credit for volunteering, please let us know. We are happy to see if we can work something out with your professor.
We currently have the following volunteer opportunities available;
Volunteer for Room 42
Room 42 is a virtual program so all of the volunteer work can be done remotely.
You will need to have access to the internet and the ability to send and receive emails. You will also need to “meet” with your TC Camp Staff Coordinator via voice or voice and video on occasion.
As a Volunteer Researcher, you will be assigned a segment of the industry to research academic publications and research papers to find current works of interest to the technical and professional communicator.
Once you have located a key piece of work, you will then propose the article to the review team for final selection.
Industries of interest can come from a number of disciplines from the varied Humanities and STEM programs. The topic must relate to communication and how we inform or instruct the general public.
Hours are flexible and work is done remotely
As a Volunteer Copy Editor, you will be given content to review for errors in grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation. You will also check for technical consistency in spelling, capitalization, font usage, numerals, hyphenation and verify all of the content conforms to a standard style guide.
Hours are flexible. But considering the pivotal nature of the Editor’s role, we will work to set deadlines so there will be a high degree of interaction. We would not want to overwhelm our Volunteer Editors!
Social Media Marketer
As a Volunteer Social Media Marketer, you will be responsible for writing and scheduling postings to promote future events, remind the community about past events, and encourage engagement from others.
Hours are flexible
